From Students to Managers

On January 11th, 2012, a group of six Atlanta volunteers left early in the morning headed for UGA, the University of Georgia, to let students know about upcoming Isha Kriya sessions to be offered free on the campus. The cars were packed tight, and precious cargo included 500 homemade cookies freshly baked by volunteers.

Students at UGA were very excited and interested in the free meditation programs being offered. Many exclaimed, “I’ve been looking for meditation,” or “This is what I’ve been looking for,” or “I need this”. The first student to visit the colorful booth turned out to be on his way to being on the air! He was very interested in the offering of meditation, and spontaneously invited Isha volunteers to join him on the air for an interview.

The first of seven Isha Kriya events offered at UGA began on January 18th, thanks to many hearts, hands, heads, and financial supporters coming together.

One student was overcome by the sense of offering that was readily apparent that day. He had asked many questions about the Isha outreach project initiatives, and was marveling at the table with DVDs, cookies, and information on free meditation programs being offered. Awestruck, he stood and asked, “Why is all this being offered for free?”

Across the country in Dallas…

Local Texas volunteers recently presented an Isha Kriya session to a group of Taco Bell managers with the YUM! Corporation, as part of their diversity training day. Due to heavy flooding in the area, the session was delayed one hour, but the session finally began with a packed room of around 76 managers.

The host, an Isha volunteer, introduced the event by reminding the managers that they always wondered how she got up each morning at 4 am but still had so much energy throughout the day, and that this was the reason. The session had great participation and interest. One woman shared that after the meditation, she felt light and didn’t feel her body as much. She felt calm and peaceful, and had more of an experience than she expected.

Many participants took home Isha Kriya dvds to watch and share, and others inquired about the upcoming Houston Inner Engineering program with Sadhguru on May 4-6.
