Sadhguru in UK – Rules of the Game

Last week, in a meeting of 50 prominent UK football stars, singers, journalists, and others, Sadhguru addressed topics including trust and loyalty in sport, including this rousing discussion of cheating in the game that particularly struck a chord with many of the current and former athletes in attendance:

The event followed Sadhguru’s meeting with Goodison Park football team last year, as well as his recent visit with the Indian men’s hockey team before they headed to London for 2012 Olympics. Matt Ryan, who runs yoga classes in the village hall where the event took place and who helped orchestrate the meeting, shared "It was fun. I don't think anyone knew what to expect really, myself included…It was a unique situation that I don't think you would find very often and I've had a lot positive feedback."

Other notable attendees included singer-songwriter Damon Gough (Badly Drawn Boy) and Stone Roses bassist Mani.

Former Blues striker Rodney Marsh led the question and answer session, admitting that he had planned on asking “questions like do you have a 40-year-old beard and wear white clothes because you want to make money?” but was so impressed by a video on Sadhguru and Isha Foundation’s social outreach work that he completely changed his approach. “Its not about cheating and not cheating…A game is created only with a certain set of rules. When you break the rule, what you are saying is I want to destroy the game. Such people should have no place in the game”  – Sadhguru
