Rejuvenating Ayurvedic Therapies offered during ILM

During the program you have the opportunity to experience rejuvenating and relaxing Ayurvedic therapies. These therapies, offered normally as part of Rejuvenation programs are being made available for this special occasion.

Ayurveda is a deep science which is based on the idea that body, mind and spirit must be in harmony with nature in order to create an inner balance within oneself. Ayurvedic massage creates a deep relaxation in the body where deeply rooted imbalances in the system can be

overcome, restoring harmony and functional integrity of the doshas (unique body types). Different from pressure point Western massage, Ayurvedic therapy uses various types of medicated oils in long vigorous strokes throughout the body.

 

Shiro Abhyangam (Head & Shoulder therapy) – 30 minutes

This soothing head therapy with slightly heated medicated oil improves blood circulation, nourishes hair, enhances eye sight, stimulates the drainage of lymph fluid, induces restfulness and increases the supply of oxygen and glucose to the brain, resulting in clearer thinking and focus.

Sharira Abhyanga (Full Body therapy) – 60 minutes

Given in the traditional Kerala style, warm medicated herbal oil is vigorously rubbed over the whole body. This authentic ayurvedic massage restores proper blood circulation of the body, relaxes the mind by releasing built-up stress and balances the system. Performed by a single therapist.

Pada Snanam (Aromatherapy Foot Bath) – 25 minutes

Peppermint and lavender fill the air, as your feet are immersed in a tub of hot medicated herbal water. Rolling the feet gently over pebbles, stimulates the reflex points on the soles thereby, not only relieving tired and aching muscles, but also filling one with a sense of overall serenity and wellbeing. Relax as you melt into a soothing foot massage.

Refreshing Ayurvedic Facial, Massage, and Face Pack – 30 minutes

This invigorating facial begins with a sweet almond and honey scrub followed by a soothing massage with homemade yogurt. A medicated herbal paste is then applied to the face and removed with refreshing rose water. By restoring and rejuvenating the skin, this facial enhances one’s youthfulness.
