In honor of United Nations International Day of Peace, come together, get inspired, and create peace within yourself, your community and in your world.

On Sept. 21st, Isha Foundation, an international non-profit human service organization, will host a day-long celebration of entertainment and enlightening talks at its yoga and meditation center in Middle Tennessee. The event will feature talks by prominent speakers and thought leaders, group meditations, a concert by the Mowgli’s, and much more!

Arianna Huffington

Arianna Huffington is the chair, president and editor-in-chief of The Huffington Post Media Group, a nationally syndicated
columnist and author of thirteen books.

In May 2005, she launched The Huffington Post, a news and blog site that quickly became one of the most widely read,
linked to and frequently cited media brands on the Internet. In 2012, the site won a Pulitzer Prize for national reporting.

In 2013, she was named to the Forbes Most Powerful Women list. In 2006, and again in 2011, she was named to
the TIME 100, TIME magazine’s list of the world’s 100 most influential people.

Originally from Greece, she moved to England when she was 16 and graduated from Cambridge University with an M.A.
in economics. At 21, she became president of the famed debating society, the Cambridge Union.

Sadhguru

Sadhguru is a yogi, international speaker and visionary humanitarian. Over the last three decades, he has worked tirelessly towards the physical, mental, and spiritual wellbeing of humanity through powerful yoga programs and large-scale, volunteer-run public-service projects.

Absolute clarity of perception gives him a unique perspective not only in matters spiritual but in business, environmental and international affairs. His scientific and logical approach has touched the lives of 7 million people from all walks of life.

Sadhguru, named one of India’s 50 most influential people, is a widely sought after international speaker. His inclusive and holistic approach to current issues and world affairs has impressed some of the most educated and skeptical minds on the planet.

 

Kathleen Koch is a Washington-based author, speaker, moderator and freelance journalist. Her best-selling book, Rising from Katrina, which traces her Mississippi hometown’s recovery from Hurricane Katrina and her experiences covering it, was named Best Non-fiction in the Southeast Region in the 2011 Independent Publisher Book Awards. It also received an honorary mention for Book of the Year in the regional category from ForeWord Reviews.

Sandy Tolan is a journalist, teacher, and documentary radio producer. He is associate professor at the Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism at USC. He has reported in more than 30 countries, especially in the Middle East, Latin America, the Balkans and Eastern Europe. He has produced dozens of documentaries for National Public Radio and Public Radio International, and has written for more than 40 newspapers and magazines, including the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, the Christian Science Monitor, USA Today, and The Nation.

Dr. Elizabeth Kapu’uwailani Lindsey is the first Polynesian Explorer and female Fellow in the history of the National Geographic Society. She is an internationally recognized expert in the field of cultural intelligence – a wholistic system of knowledge and wisdom based on indigenous science.

Lindsey is the Co-Founder and CEO of a San Francisco-based company with environmentalist and businessman Paul Hawken.

Becky Magura

Becky Magura has more than 30 years of experience in production, educational outreach and management at public television station, WCTE.

In 2006, Magura became WCTE’s fourth General Manager and has led the station team through digital transition in transmission and production as well as securing a second WCTE satellite studio.

She is also currently serving as the Chair of the National Educational Telecommunications Association’s Executive Board and on the Association of Public Television Stations Board of Trustees.
