The Venue – Isha Institute of Inner-sciences

Located 1.5 hours southeast of Nashville and 3 hours northwest of Atlanta (just outside McMinnville, TN), the Isha Institute of Inner-sciences (iii) is located on 1200 acres of land on Tennessee’s spectacular Cumberland Plateau, one of the most biodiverse regions in the South. The Isha Institute of Inner-sciences’ environment offers stunning bluff overlooks and broad forested valleys, imposing rock formations and deep caves, as well as streams, waterfalls, and a spring-fed lake.

 

Isha Institute of Inner-sciences (iii) is established as an infrastructure for raising human consciousness – fostering global harmony through individual transformation. Isha Institute of Inner Sciences is a non-religious, non-profit, public service organization, which addresses all aspects of human wellbeing. Isha’s powerful yoga programs for inner transformation and inspiring social outreach projects are designed to create an inclusive culture that is the basis for global harmony and progress.

Founded and guided by Sadhguru – a yogi, profound mystic, and humanitarian – Isha Institute of Inner-sciences is a unique space created for human beings to deepen their experience of life. The center is open 365 days a year and welcomes visitors from all walks of life.

Mahima

Mahima, (meaning Grace) is a 39,000 square-foot free-spanning meditation hall—the largest of its kind in the western hemisphere. More than an impressive structure, Mahima is a potent sphere for self-transformation.

The area surrounding Isha Institute of Inner-sciences includes popular tourist destinations of natural and historical significance, such as Fall Creek Falls State Park, Cumberland Caverns, South Cumberland State Park, and Cumberland Mountain State Park. Passing nearby from North to South is the Cumberland Trail, a 300-mile hiking trail running from the Cumberland Gap in southern Kentucky to the Prentice Cooper Wildlife Management Area just outside Chattanooga.

Sadhguru, along with the world’s most prominent religious and spiritual leaders, gathered for the Millennium World Peace Summit of Religious and Spiritual Leaders, at the United Nations in New York beginning August 28, 2000.

The United Nations’ Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), at its Substantive Session in July 2007, decided to grant Special Consultative Status to Isha Foundation. ECOSOC assists the General Assembly of the United Nations in addressing international economic and social issues.

Free Parking available onsite. Children 12 and under are admitted at no charge. Alcohol, drugs and weapons are not permitted on campus. Smoking is permitted only in designated areas. This spacious campus is situated on a scenic Cumberland Plateau. Be prepared to walk on unpaved walkways and trails. Shuttles will be available for those who require assistance.

Food: Available for purchase on-site from local vendors. Please do not bring any food items/beverages. Free water refill stations are provided on campus (please bring a water container/ stainless steel water bottles are also available for purchase)

What to Bring / What Not to Bring

Please bring the following:

  • Printout of email registration confirmation for speedy check-in
  • Comfortable shoes/sneakers
  • Umbrella if cloudy
  • Aluminum or stainless steel container for water
  • Blanket, etc for outdoor concert seating

Please do not bring the following:

Isha Institute is a safe and supportive center for all ages. It is also the home to many full-time volunteers who have dedicated their lives to their yogic practices and service to others. Please respect the space and do not bring these items under any circumstances (we will search arriving vehicles and security will be present at all times):

  • Glass containers of any kind
  • Weapons of any kind
  • Fireworks
  • Lighters
  • Pets
