As part of Isha Foundation's community efforts in the US, a free clinic was launched in 2008 offering free healthcare services for the poor and medically under served areas of rural Tennessee (Isha Care). This approach has gained worldwide recognition and reflects in Isha Foundation's special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations.
