Isha's project GreenHands launched the planting season for 2013 to plant 40 lakh saplings this year. The season was launched in Coimbatore at a function held in Gandhipuram, opposite Hotel Tamil Nadu and was presided over.

The city geared up to contribute its mite to nature as it celebrated World Environment Day on Wednesday with several organisations launching projects to make Coimbatore a greener place. Isha's Project Green Hands began an initiative to plant 40 lakh saplings this year across the State.

Planting of Hundred of tree saplings, conducting a tree survey, desilting of Ukkadam Lake and launch of a nationwide campaign against food wastage marked World Environment Day in the city on Wednesday.

Isha Foundation launched Project GreenHands for 2013 with the planting of 40 lakh saplings. The project was launched at Somasundaram Park and was presided over by Chennai Mayor Saidai Duraisamy.
