Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev speaks at Alliance for New Humanity
27 December, 2003
THE Alliance for the New Humanity is the global response to an opportunity for peaceful people to work together on the common challenges facing humanity. This new initiative was launched on December 11, 2003 in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev, founder of Isha Foundation in Velliangiri, near Coimbatore, served as a panelist at the event. In his address at the conference, Sadhguru emphasized that the only evil in the world is conflict. "When we begin to look inward and seek to bring a spiritual dimension in our lives, we will begin to expand consciously. We must say, I am willing to change and not I will try or change someone else. When this change occurs within and individual transformation takes place the world will begin to change.
Nobel Peace Laureates Betty Willaims and Oscar Arias Sanchez, former US vice-president Al Gore, author Deepak Chopra and movie director Shekar Kapur were among the many other like-minded individuals who gathered to launch this new initiative.
The Alliance is a nonprofit and non-partisan international network of committed global citizens. The launch connected over 600 like-minded individuals from over 30 countries. Weekend Features
