A Sacred Space for One and All
11th Anniversary of the Dhyanalinga Consecration
07 August, 2010
The Dhyanalinga was consecrated by Sadhguru as a powerful force, open to people from all religious backgrounds. Or rather, it is a living tool for spiritual liberation, and as such beyond religion. 24 June this year marked the 11th anniversary of its consecration.
This special day, each year, is celebrated with continuous chanting in the Temple by many of the religious traditions from around the world, each celebrating the Ultimate in their own unique voice. This year, the guests included Alhaaj Hafiz Moului and Mohmed Ilyas Qasimi from the Hyderali Tippu Sultan Mosque as well as Adul Quadir and Ustad Arabic from CTC Mosque, Coimbatore, with Muslim chants, the Jasmit Kaur Troupe with Gurbani (Sikh) chants, and Veda Patasala students from the Jagadguru Jayendra Saraswathi Trust, Coimbatore, with Vedic chants. Isha Brahmacharis, residents, Samskriti children and Isha Home School contributed the Shiva Panchakshara mantra AUM Namah Shivaya, as well as Christian, Sufi, and Buddhist chants. These diversely harmonious sounds reverberated within the dome, amplifying one’s experience of the timeless space of Dhyanalinga Temple in many ways.
The chanting concluded with Guru Pooja, all in one voice, filled with deep gratitude to the Guru for all that he is. But the day had not yet concluded – the evening dawned with a precious treat: a Sathsang with Sadhguru, telecast live from Isha Institute of Inner Sciences, USA.
As Sadhguru said, it may take the world a long time to realize what is being offered. But for all those who have been blessed to be there in the womb of the sacred dome to commemorate the consecration, the significance of the Dhyanalinga became more than apparent.
