Spreading the Tools for Inner Engineering beyond Borders and Cultures

On 14 July 2010, Isha Foundation officially launched the Inner Engineering Online website. The Inner Engineering Online website is more than just a website. It is a portal for people to find out all about Inner Engineering, but more importantly, people can register to attend an Inner Engineering Course online, directly from their homes or offices.
Over the past several years, Isha Yoga programs have ramped up and spread rapidly outside of India, with programs now regularly taking place in the USA, the UK, Singapore, Malaysia, and Lebanon. Still, there never seem to be enough teachers to answer the ever growing demand. It was with the desire of making Inner Engineering more widely available and accessible regardless of geographic location, and seeing the possibility offered by the internet, that Sadhguru launched the initiative of offering the Inner Engineering program online.
Sadhguru’s vision was to make the tools transmitted in the Inner Engineering program accessible to a maximum number of people. He has often said that simply imbibing the program aspects of Inner Engineering can open one to a life-transforming shift in perception. The Inner Engineering course offered online has been adapted from the conventional teacher-led program however; participants to the online course will not learn yogic practices. Any initiation to yogic practices will still be transmitted by Sadhguru and facilitated by Isha Yoga teachers in person.
The development of the online course was initiated by Sadhguru in September 2008, and after extensive trials and testing, Inner Engineering Online was launched globally in August 2010. Since April 2010, a series of testing has been conducted both internally with Isha volunteers and with non-meditators alike to validate the concept. An initial forty participants (non-meditators) had been selected to go through the course and answer surveys after each class to share their feedback and experiences. Early participants’ reactions have been overwhelmingly positive:

Since its launch on 14 July, over 100 people have already signed up for the course and the very first Shambhavi Maha Mudra initiation program took place on 7 August 2010 at the Isha Institute for Inner Sciences in Tennessee.
The Inner Engineering Online team is already working on the second version of the website, to integrate desirable upgrades and improvements and a new design… New release to be announced soon.
Inner Engineering Online – In Brief
What is the Inner Engineering Online course about? Is it the same as the current Inner Engineering programs offered by teachers?
The online version of Inner Engineering has been adapted for the internet medium. The content of the course has been defined and finalized under Sadhguru’s guidance.
The main objective of the online course is to take the participants through the program aspects and allow people to explore deeper dimensions of life right from their homes.
Inner Engineering Online can also be viewed as a preparatory step towards the initiation into Shambhavi Maha Mudra. The initiation will not happen online. A one-day program will be organized in certain locations to initiate those who want to take the next step. In the initial phase, the one-day initiation retreat will be held in the US, and eventually be offered in other countries such as UK, Australia, etc.
Participation in the Shambhavi Maha Mudra program is not mandatory for participants of the online course. Sadhguru has indicated that attending Inner Engineering Online alone is enough to bring about deep inner transformation. Using the tools explored in the online course can potentially create a significant impact in people’s lives.
The online course is made up of seven modules of approximately one and a half hour each; each module concludes with a homework section. After each module, the participant can also tap into a bank of question and answer videos – called the Treasure Trove – to explore the relevant class aspects further.
Where is it available?
Since the Inner Engineering Online course is offered via the internet, it is available worldwide. However, it requires a fast and reliable internet connection to enable smooth streaming of the course and optimum conditions to experience the Inner Engineering Online.
