BharatGreenHands.org – Towards a Greener India!
BharatMatrimony and Isha Foundation Launch Portal

10 June, 2010

As part of its social initiative, BharatMatrimony.com, India’s leading matrimonial portal, in association with Project GreenHands of Isha Foundation has launched a new website BharatGreenHands.org that gives environmentally conscious individuals and companies the opportunity to donate and plant trees online. The portal was launched by Sadhguru, Founder of Isha Foundation on 6th June 2010 in Chennai.

BharatGreenHands, a social initiative from Consim Info Pvt. Ltd., is a concrete step in the direction of restoring environmental damage. Its objective is to plant more trees to strike the right balance between urbanization and the ecological systems. This is an opportunity for anyone to contribute towards bringing back the natural beauty of India and restoring the ecological services thereby.

In this busy economic world, where many appreciate the need for planting trees but never find time to plant one and take care of it, BharatGreenHands and Isha Foundation are joining hands to provide a solution. For each donation to plant a tree, donors will receive

1. An attractive thank u card

2. A certificate of your dedication.

Now, anyone can participate in planting as many trees, just by logging on to this portal.

During the Inauguration of BharatGreenHands.org, Sadhguru said, “We can reverse the current environmental situation only if we can establish a culture of care for the environment. A significant transformation can happen only with the participation of large groups of volunteers.”

Speaking on the occasion of the launch, Murugavel Janakiraman, Founder and CEO of Consim Info Pvt. Ltd. said, “We are delighted to join hands with Isha Foundation to make India greener. People can gift a tree for their birthday, anniversary, wedding day and any memorable day. With different kinds of package, people can pay through online and dedicate trees in memory of loved ones. We expect to plant one lakh trees in a span of six months and are looking forward to expand our service in the northern part of our country too.”

K. P. K. Kumaran, former Member of Parliament, who was present at the launch said, “Initiatives such as these go a long way in promoting greener and healthier living. More and more people should participate in greener activities such as planting trees online.”
