Fashion with a Mission
Benefit Fashion Show in Singapore for Isha Vidhya

13 July, 2010

With an aim to raise awareness about Isha Vidhya, a fashion show was organized at Yantra, Tanglin Mallin Singapore on 20 May 2010. Isha Foundation and Pure Earth, a well-known Singapore-based fashion brand, were instrumental in making the show happen. The theme of the show was Mother’s Day and the event turned out to be a feast of entertainment with a difference.

A presentation about the need of modern education among underprivileged children in India was successful in touching one and all.

The ensembles at the fashion show that dazzled the dais with red, white and blue colors truly embodied the Isha Vidhya’s immaculate spirit. An initiative by Sadhguru, Isha Vidhya seeks to empower the lives of rural children by providing them quality education. While red signified the heart and passion to make a difference, white – purity, and blue/green – calmness, the florals epitomized the free-spirited nature of children and their desire to live life to the fullest, the designer explained.

A beautiful dance performance, a lucky draw, many sponsored gifts, and a delectable lunch marked the occasion.

The rural educational arm of Isha Foundation, Isha Vidhya plans to set up 206 schools in villages across Tamil Nadu. Its six schools – a seventh one is currently under construction – are testimony of its commitment to work towards this goal.

If you feel inspired and want to be part of this Isha initiative, all you have to do is to contact Isha Vidhya at info@ishavidhya.org. More details can be had from www.ishavidhya.org.
