The Fun Way

Learning Is a cherished experience in this school.
This is a school that will make you feel at home. It ensures that fun, adventure and learning go hand in hand. The Isha Home School, which was inaugurated in Velliangiri Foothills near Coimbatore recently, aims at experimental learning.
In order to give children a feel of home, the school has introduced the concept of house parents. The house parents will live with the children, and the very young children will have an additional housemother to take care of their needs. The school, with 74 students in the age group of 5-12, will attempt a method of instruction, which is child-directed. It will involve introduction of concepts and ideas to children. A child's response to a topic will be observed and understood. Those who display an interest in a particular area will be provided guidance and resources to pursue it.
There will be more than just class room teaching, as students will be often taken on outings. A faculty comprising an international group will teach the children.
Sue McSherry, who taught in the U.S. for almost 30 years, is part of the Home School's English faculty. McSherry expressed the hope that Isha Home School will nurture students' love of learning without dampening their spirit in the process.
