COIMBATORE - With its vibrant arts, music and literature, its distinctive folk culture, not to mention its enticing cuisine, Tamil Nadu is the theme for Isha Fest 2006. Celebrated by a mammoth gathering of devotees every year in September at Isha Yoga Centre, Velliangiri Foothills, Coimbatore, the Isha Fest commemorates the enlightenment of Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev and honours the United Nations International Day of Peace.
Millions of people from all over the world join with the Isha Foundation with the common goal of bringing peace to humanity. This year's festival will be on Sept. 24 at the Isha premises. Sadhguru's discourse at 11:30am and a music concert by Anuradha Sriram at 5.30 in the evening are the highlights of the festival. The lively cultural programs will bring renowned artists from all over Tamil Nadu to present traditional and folk music, besides theatre and dance performances by Isha meditators.
Refreshment stalls will offer an array of rural delicacies from various parts of the State. Arts and craft stalls will display handicrafts, textiles and fine furniture sourced from different parts of the State, apart from the exquisite Isha Crafts collections. Spirited games and sports for children and adults, featured at many stalls will enthrall the crowd.
