Pancha Bhuta Aradhana

The basis of all creation, including the physical body, are the five elements. The wellbeing of the body and the mind can be established by purifying the five elements within the human system. This process also shapes the body to become a stepping stone towards one's ultimate wellbeing rather than being a hurdle. There is a whole system of yoga called bhuta shuddhi, meaning purification of the elements. With the Pancha Bhuta Aradhana, Sadhguru opens up a unique opportunity for devotees to benefit from this deep yogic science which would otherwise require intense sadhana.

The presiding deity for such a pursuit is Bhuteshwara, another aspect of Shiva. The Pancha Bhuta Aradhana is an effort to bring down that dimension of Grace of the Dhyanalinga upon the seeker. On the 14th day of every lunar month, known as Shivarathri, there will be an opportunity to experience the Pancha Bhuta Aradhana at the Dhyanalinga between 5:40 pm and 6:10 pm.

The Benefits:
The Pancha Bhuta Aradhana stabilizes body and mind and is particularly beneficial for those suffering from physical ailments, a weak constitution, psychological instabilities, disturbed sleep and a constant sense of fear. The Aradhana is also supportive for the fulfillment of one's ambitions.

The Pancha Bhuta Aradhana includes an initiation with Abhaya Sutra, a thread specially consecrated to remove doubt and fear (Abhaya literally means "without fear"). If these two limiting forces can be dispelled from the mind, one can live life to one's full potential.

The Process:
The Pancha Bhuta Aradhana is performed in a powerful and intense manner invoking the divine grace of the Dhyanalinga. The qualities of each of the five elements are made accessible through a powerful process involving mantra (sound), yantra (form), tantra (technology), and sarvanga sadhana (using the human body as an instrument of worship).

The material form of each element along with its corresponding mantra and an elaborate series of movements are designed to create a certain reverberation, thus harmonizing this element within the human system.

Only the purest, carefully selected ingredients are used for this unique offering. Sacred soil is purified in an elaborate process to represent the element Prithvi (earth). Apaha (water) is brought by Brahmacharis and Sanyasis from an auspicious site in the Velliangiri Mountains where, in his previous life, Sadhguru spent time doing intense sadhana in a cave and attained to absolute mastery over his physical form. For the element of Agni (fire), only the purest ghee made of milk from cows - among the most revered animals in this culture for their sattvic qualities - is used to nurture the flames. Vayu (wind) is created by Brahmacharis waving specially designed, colossal fans made of Mahavilva leaves in synchronized movements. Finally, Sadhguru (whether physically present or not) opens up Akasha, the limitless space which holds the other four elements.

Monthly participation in the Pancha Bhuta Aradhana is particularly beneficial in stabilizing the physical body and the mind.
